1.1 The website at www.parkable.com and any present or future affiliated or related mobile application (our “Platform”) is operated by Parkable Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company incorporated in New Zealand with company 5645728 and whose registered office is at 14 McDonald Street, Morningside, Auckland, 1025 New Zealand, and its related entities, including:
1.1.1 Parkable Holdings Limited, a company incorporated and registered in New Zealand with company number 7402376 and whose registered office is at 14 McDonald Street, Morningside, Auckland, 1025 New Zealand; and
1.1.2 Park Genie Pty Limited, a company incorporated and registered in Australia with business number (ABN) 12617768233 and whose registered office is at 44 Fisher Street, East Brisbane, Queensland, 4169 Australia; and
1.1.3 Parkable UK Limited, a company incorporated and registered in England and Wales with company number 13652136 and whose registered office is at PO BOX 501, The Nexus Building Broadway, Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire SG6 9BL, England.
1.2 If you are a user of our Platform in the United States, Parkable Limited is the controller of your personal data (i.e. any information about an individual from which that individual can be identified). We are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. Any questions or requests regarding this Privacy Policy, including any requests in respect to your personal data that we process, can be sent by post to the above-stated address or emailed to support@parkable.com.
1.3 This Privacy Policy (together with our Terms of Service and any other documents referred to on it, and our Cookie Policy) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.
- 1.3.1 In this Privacy Policy: (i) “Parking Space” means a parking space listed on our Platform and made available for reservations by Parkers; (ii) “Host” means the owner or operator of a Parking Space; and (iii) “Parker” means a user of our Platform who reserves the use of Parking Space with a Host via our Platform.
1.4 Our Platform includes links to third-party websites and applications. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements, notices, or policies. When you leave our Platform, we encourage you to read the privacy notice of every website you visit. We do not accept any responsibility or liability for the privacy policies or notices on third-party websites. Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to such third-party websites.
Who our Platform and this Privacy Policy is for
2.1 Information that you give us:
2.1.1 We receive, store and process information that you make available to us when accessing or using our Platform, such as your name, email, telephone number, home address, demographic information (such as postal code, age) photos, car registration and information related to you parking activity. Payment information (such as account or credit card number) is provided directly to our third party payment gateway, Stripe.
2.1.2 We collect information directly from you when you:
- fill in any form on the Platform, such as when you register or update the details of your user account;
- interact with a chat widget or pop-up on our website/s, such as providing us with your name, email address or phone number to receive further communications;
- access or use the Platform, such as to search for, or Host parking spaces, make or accept bookings, pay for parking spaces, enter your bank account number so you can be paid for hosting parking, book or pay for any associated services that may be available, post comments or reviews, or communicate with other users;
- link your account on a third party site (e.g. Facebook) to your Parkable account, in which case we will obtain the Personal Information that you have provided to the third party site, to the extent allowed by your settings with the third party site and authorized by you; and
- communicate with Parkable.
2.2 Information we collect from your use of the Platform:
We also collect information from you indirectly when you use our Platform so that we can provide effective services and products. We collect information from you indirectly as follows:
- Mobile Data - When you use our mobile applications we may receive, store and process different types of information about your location, including general information (e.g., IP address, post or zip code) and more specific information (e.g., GPS-based functionality on mobile devices used to access the Platform or specific features of the platform).
- Log Data - We may also receive, store and process Log Data, which is information that is automatically recorded by our servers whenever you access or use the Platform, regardless of whether you are registered with Parkable or logged in to your Parkable account, such as your IP Address, the date and time you access or use the Platform, the hardware and software you are using, referring and exit pages and URLs, the number of clicks, pages viewed and the order of those pages, and the amount of time spent on particular pages.
- Third Party Social Plugins - Our Platform may use social plugins which are provided and operated by third-party companies, such as Facebook’s Like Button. As a result of this, you may send to the third-party company the information that you are viewing on a certain part of our Platform. If you are not logged into your account with the third-party company, then the third party may not know your identity. If you are logged into your account with the third-party company, then the third party may be able to link information about your visit to our Platform to your account with them.
Information we collect about you
3.1 Depending on the services we provide to you and how you interact with us, we collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you which we have grouped together as follows:
3.1.1 Contact Data, which includes first name, last name, title, email address and telephone number (including phone numbers used to contact our customer services number). If you are a host, we also collect postal address, and billing address.
3.1.2 Financial Data, which includes bank account details (so that you can receive payments), and other financial and billing information. We use a third party provider to manage and collect payment card details where used.
3.1.3 Identity Data, which includes first name, last name, title, and (if you are a Parker) vehicle registration number. If you are a host we also collect date of birth.
3.1.4 Listing Data (if you use our Platform as a Host), which includes details of your Parking Space(s) including descriptions, photographs/images, city and neighbourhood where the Parking Space(s) is/are located, approximate or precise location, calendar availability, reviews, feedback, and ratings from Parkers who have used the Parking Space(s), your responsiveness and performance as a Platform user and as a Host, and additional information you choose to share via our Platform concerning the Parking Space(s).
3.1.5 Parking Data (if you use our Platform as a Parker), which includes details of your parking sessions, start and end date and time, cost, preferred Parking Space(s), city and neighbourhood where the Parking Space(s) is/are located, and any infringements reported for sessions not booked or paid.
3.1.6 Marketing and Communications Data, which includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and our third parties and your communication preferences.
3.1.7 Technical Data, which includes your internet protocol (IP) address, cookie identifiers, your login data, browser type and version, and time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access our Platform.
3.1.8 Transaction Data, which includes information such as details of your Parking Space reservations or responses to reservation requests, payments to and from you, correspondence or communications with you in respect of your orders, bay and park preferences, session details, infringement details, and details of any rewards and bonuses awarded.
3.1.9 Usage Data, which includes information about how you use our Platform and services, such as clickstream to, through, and from our Platform (including date and time), Parking Spaces you viewed or searched for or made reservations for, page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), and methods used to browse away from the page.
3.1.10 Preference Data, which includes information about reservations made or agreed by you, preferences, feedback, and survey responses.
3.1.11 Public Profile Data, which (whether you use the Platform as a Host or as a Parker) includes your profile name, description, and city (as provided to us by you).
How we collect and use your information
4.1 We will only collect and process your personal data where we have a lawful basis to do so, i.e. where:
- We need your personal data to perform a contract with you (for example, to process a payment from you or provide customer support) or in order to take steps at your request prior to you entering into a contract (for example, in order to pair Hosts and Parkers in order for them to conclude an agreement regarding the use of a Parking Space);
- the processing is in our legitimate interests (as described below) and not overridden by your interests, rights, or freedoms;
- we have a legal obligation to collect or disclose personal data from you; or
- we have your consent to process your personal data.
4.2 This information is collected when:
- you fill in any form on our Platform, such as when you register or update the details of your user account;
- interact with a chat widget or pop-up on our Platform, such as providing us with your name, email address or phone number to receive further communications;
- access or use our Platform, for example to search for or make available Parking Spaces, make or accept reservations for Parking Spaces, pay for Parking Spaces, enter your bank details so you can be paid for hosting parking, book or pay for any associated services that may be available, post comments or reviews, or communicate with other users; or
- you otherwise communicate or correspond with us.
4.3 The following table sets out what personal data we collect about you, what we use that personal data for, and our lawful basis for doing so. Please be aware that we sometimes process your personal data using more than one lawful basis, depending on the specific purpose or activity.

4.4 Where the lawful basis stated above is your consent, you have the right to withdraw this consent at any time. You can also object to our processing in certain circumstances where our lawful basis for processing is our legitimate interests. Please see section 11 of this Privacy Policy for further information on how to exercise these rights.
4.5 Please note that, where we rely on your consent or our legitimate interests to process your personal data and you withdraw that consent or object to our processing, we will no longer be able to provide certain services to you that are dependent on this processing.
4.6 If any of your personal data (such as your Contact Data) changes, please ensure that you let us know by editing this in your account settings, so that the information we have about you is kept up to date.
4.7 The Platform utilizes Pendo, a third-party analytics provider, to understand how users interact with the app and improve its features. We disclose that Pendo collects Device ID and product usage data. This data is used to analyze user behavior, evaluate the effectiveness of existing features, plan new features, and measure audience size and characteristics.
Location data
5.1 If you access our Platform via our mobile application, then the mobile application will request your consent to use location services to identify your precise location each session (i.e. each time the mobile application is opened or has been placed in the background). With your consent, we will access that Location Data in order to provide you with details of Parking Spaces near you and to help you plan your route to a Parking Space. We will not process that Location Data for any other purpose. If you do not provide your consent, you may use the Platform via your mobile device, but that will mean this feature will not function and not be available. To withdraw your consent at any time, please access the ‘Settings’ area of the mobile application.
5.2 Please note that the location services will not operate unless location services/data are generally enabled on your device. You can enable or disable location services when you use our Service at any time through your mobile device settings.
How your information is shared with other users of the Platform
6.1 If you are a Host:
- your Listing Data will be displayed on the Platform and will be viewable by other Platform users and, if you have opted in to this feature, it will also be indexed by third-party search engines and will appear in third-party search results; and
- when you receive a booking, or a Parker commences parking in your Parking Space, your Contact Data will be shared with the Parker so that they can contact you;
6.2 If you are a Parker:
your Contact Data will be shared with the relevant Host when you make a reservation for a Parking Space made available by that Host;
- when you receive a booking, or a Parker commences parking in your Parking Space, your Contact Data will be shared with the Parker so that they can contact you;
- your Usage Data will, if you are a member of a private group (for example, employees, tenants, or other private parking arrangements) be shared with the relevant Hosts and/or organisation admin.
6.3 As a Parker or Host, your Public Profile Data will be visible to all authorised users of the data, such as Parkable customer care or, if you are a member of a Private Group, the organisation admins and team leads of that private group.
6.4 If you post any messages or content to our Platform’s interactive areas, please note that any information you voluntarily post about yourself or anyone else will be visible to other users of the Platform and to us. Please do not share any personal information in the interactive areas that you do not want to be seen, collected, or used by anyone else.
Other parties your information is shared with
7.1 We limit access to your personal information to those who have a genuine business need to know it, such as our staff, professional advisors, and business partners, suppliers, and subcontractors that we use in connection with the running of our business for the purposes set out in the table in section 4of this Privacy Policy. Financial Data is provided directly to our third-party payment gateway, Stripe, whose privacy policy can be accessed here. Occasionally we will share your personal information with other third parties that have or may acquire control or ownership of our business (and our or their professional advisers) in connection with a significant corporate transaction or restructuring, including a merger, acquisition, asset sale, initial public offering or in the event of our insolvency—usually, information will be anonymised but this may not always be possible. However, all those processing your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality. We are also sometimes required to share your personal information for prevention of crime or where otherwise required to do so by other regulators or by law.
How we store your information and how long we keep it for
8.1 We are continuously implementing and updating administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, destruction, or alteration. Our desktop website uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates to verify our identity to your browser and to encrypt any data you give us via the Platform. Whenever information is transferred between us in this way, you can check the relevant SSL certificate by looking for a closed padlock system or other trust mark in your browser’s URL bar or toolbar. We have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where we are legally required to do so.
8.2 If you have registered an account on our Platform, we will retain your information for as long as you have an account on our Platform. If you delete your account or request us to do so, we will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or other requirements. In some circumstances we will anonymise your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes, in which case we will be able to use this information indefinitely without further notice to you.
Cookies
9.1 We use cookies to distinguish you from other users of our Platform. This helps us to provide you with a good experience when you use our Platform and also allows us to improve our Platform.

International transfers of your information
10.1 Countries outside the United States have differing data protection laws, some of which may provide lower levels of protection of privacy. It is necessary for us to transfer your information to countries outside the United States. In all cases, we will comply with applicable United States laws designed to ensure the privacy of your information.
10.2 We transfer your information outside the United States to the following countries and entities outside Parkable:
- New Zealand (your personal information is transferred to our New Zealand affiliates to assist us in providing, integrating, promoting, and improving our Platform);
- Australia (your personal data is transferred to our Australian affiliate to assist us in providing, integrating, promoting, and improving our Platform);
- United Kingdom (your personal data is transferred to our United Kingdom affiliate to assist us in providing, integrating, promoting, and improving our Platform);
- the United States (your Contact Data and Marketing and Communications Data is transferred to Mailchimp to enable us to send out newsletters and email communications to you, as well as to Marketo to enable us to personalise our marketing messages and content. Your data is stored on Google Cloud).
10.3 Any changes to the destinations to which we send your information or in the transfer mechanisms we use to transfer your information internationally will be notified to you in accordance with the section 12 below.
10.4 If you have any questions about international transfers of your personal information, please contact us using the details set out in section 1 above.
Your rights
11.1 Under applicable data protection laws, you have a number of important rights free of charge. In summary, those include rights to:
11.1.1 access to your personal information and to certain other supplementary information that this Privacy Policy is already designed to address;
11.1.2 require us to correct any mistakes in your information which we hold;
11.1.3 require the erasure of personal information concerning you in certain situations (please note this that this right will not apply where it is necessary for us to continue to use the relevant personal information for a lawful reason);
11.1.4 receive the personal information concerning you which you have provided to us (and where the relevant lawful basis stated in section 4 of this Privacy Policy is your consent or our performance of a contract with you), in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and have the right to transmit those data to a third party in certain situations (please note that this right does not apply to personal data contained only in hard-copy records);
11.1.5 withdraw your consent (if you have given this to us previously) for us to contact you for direct marketing purposes;
11.1.6 object to decisions being taken by automated means which produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affect you;
11.1.7 object in certain other situations to our continued processing of your personal information; and
11.1.8 otherwise restrict our processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
11.2 If you would like to exercise any of those rights, please contact us using the details provided section 1 of this Privacy Policy, letting us know the information to which your request relates.
11.3 We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is a security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up our response. We try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it could take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests (in which case we will notify you and keep you updated).
11.4 There are some exceptions to the rights listed above and, although we will always try to respond to any instructions you may give us about our handling of your personal information, there may be situations where we are unable to meet your requirements in full.
11.5 We hope that we can resolve any query or concern you raise about our use of your information. You have the right to make a complaint at any time to the supervisory authority in your jurisdiction.
11.5.1 We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to deal directly with your concerns before you approach any supervisory authority, and would be pleased to respond to any such complaints as your first-priority contact.
Updates to this Privacy Policy
12.1 This Privacy Policy was last updated on 12 February 2025.
12.2 We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time as necessary to comply with law or for legitimate business purposes. Any changes we make to this Privacy Policy in the future will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you by email. Please check back frequently to see any updates or changes to this Privacy Policy.
