In August, the Australian Institute of Fitness (AIF) Brisbane campus moved offices, and transitioned from having 28 staff parking spots to just ten. Of these ten parking spots, nine are allocated to specific team members.
As AIF has flexible working, their nine allocated car parks sit empty a few days each week. Instead of letting spots lie vacant while dozens of staff miss out, they wanted an easy way for car park holders to share their spots with the rest of the team when they weren’t driving into work.
Making sharing easy with Parkable
The Parkable app enables car park holders to easily share parks with colleagues, either on the day or into the future. Those without an allocation can reserve parking in advance and check car park availability in real time.
"Parkable has made life so easy as an employee at AIF; just knowing before I leave the house that I am guaranteed a park at our office takes the stress out of my morning and allows me to focus on my day ahead. The app is so easy to use and everyone at AIF has been really appreciating the organisation it brings."
- Molly Fabri, Communications & Partnerships Coordinator
Plus, because Parkable has public car parks available nearby, when staff miss out on parking at AIF they can use the same Parkable app to book and pay for public parking instead.
One of the best features of Parkable's parking management software is that it allows companies to make the most efficient use of all of their parking bays - even those assigned to individuals.
Solving workplace parking problems is vital to an effective facility management program, but it's also a complicated proposition. Managing parking lots at scale will quickly become more complex than you may have bargained for.
