The 5 Most-Asked Questions about Listing Your Space with Parkable

Is there a fee for listing my car park?

Listing your car park is completely free, and only takes a couple of minutes! Plus there are no contracts, so you can unlist your space at any time. (We want you to stay with us because you want to, not because you have to).

How do I list my car park?

Listing your space on Parkable is quick and easy. You can either fill out the form here (and we’ll be in touch to complete your listing) or you can download the app to list your space. Once the app is downloaded, simply create an account, go to the menu and tap ‘Create a park’, then fill out your details.

Check out our How To’s for a detailed, step-by-step rundown on creating a listing.

How and when do I get paid?

The most important question of all! Although we wish the answer was more fun (like something reminiscent of Father Christmas, but with less breaking and entering), it’s actually a pretty standard process.

Once you become a host and have had people park in your space, you’ll receive an automated payment for all revenue, less Parkable and bank fees, on the first week of each following month. All you need to do is make sure your bank details are up to date, so the money can find its way to you!

For more details, read our Terms of Service. We can’t promise that it will be riveting reading, but it will answer all of your questions about fees and GST.

Isn’t it a bit risky to let strangers park on my property?

Actually (and sorry if we sound like a bunch of know-it-alls), one of the top burglary-prevention strategies provided by both the New Zealand Police and the Australian Security Industry Association is to make sure there are vehicles parked outside your property.

So while it may seem unlikely, Parkable and security actually go together like fish and chips, bread and butter… or cars and parking.

Plus, every Parkable member has agreed to our Terms of Service, which includes a requirement for a minimum of a third-party insurance cover, and every park listed on Parkable is insured under public liability.

Parkable is built on a trusted community, but in the unlikely event that something goes wrong, we’re here to give you all the help you need.

What if someone parks on my property without paying, or outside available hours?

It’s really easy to check on the app who should (and shouldn’t) be parking in your space, so if you have someone parking without a session, it only takes a moment to check and then send us a message.

Plus, if you have a rather large car park, you can choose a ‘managed site’ option, which includes having our enforcement team check on your space each day, so you don’t have to.

We have an amazing team of support people, so if a problem does occur we’ll be straight onto it.
