Use the sharing pool

The sharing pool is a simple way to make parking fairer and more flexible for your people.

The sharing pool is a simple way to make parking fairer and more flexible for your people. Instead of spaces sitting empty, they can be shared between employees or even made available to other tenants in the building.

What is the sharing pool?

The sharing pool is a collection of unused or excess parking spaces that can be released each day. That might include spaces your company isn’t using, or spots that sit unused when people work from home.

Those spots don’t go to waste — they go back into the pool for colleagues or, depending on how your building is set up, even people in other tenancies. This makes it easier to balance demand on busy days and ensures more employees get access when they need it.

Benefits of the sharing pool

For employees, it means more chances to secure a space on days they’re coming into the office. For admins, it means less manual juggling of allocations and fewer complaints.

And for your workplace overall, it’s a way to get fairer use of the parking you already have.

How to use the sharing pool

Employee bookings

Booking a sharing pool spot is quick and simple through the Parkable app:

  1. Open the app and select your building
  2. Tap Reserve

The spot is instantly secured for the day.

Charging up at work

If your building has EV chargers, they can be included in the sharing pool as well. Employees can:

  • Find chargers in the app
  • Start and pay for a charging session
  • Receive an automatic receipt

Once the session ends, the charger automatically returns to the pool so it can be used again.

Sharing beyond your team

Depending on how your landlord has set things up, the sharing pool may be reserved just for your company, shared with other tenants, or in some cases opened up to the public. Either way, the Parkable app shows what’s available on the day so employees can book quickly and easily.

How many spaces can be shared

There’s no fixed limit. Your workplace can release as many or as few unused spots into the pool as you like. On quieter days, you might share just one or two. On busier days, you could release more. It’s completely flexible.

In short: the sharing pool helps workplaces get more value from their parking — making it fairer for staff, easier for admins, and a lot less stressful for everyone coming to the office.
